Poopy Pants

Who knew that when you become a mom you suddenly become very interested in poop!...for Jake, I'm sure this has always been an interest of his because he's a man child. But yes, it's a daily interest to know if my sweet Punkin Bears (yet another new nickname) did his daily business and what color and consistency it is. Pea soup and peanut butter are usually descriptions we've used. Yummy! Jett then gets praised for the poop bomb because we then know things are working properly, not to mention it puts him in a better mood. We can usually tell when it's the real thing coming and not just him being Toots Magoo, because there is a priceless poop face he does, complete with some grunting...I then won't mention the stench smell that subtly wafts in the air, too. Anyway, I decided this occasion needed to be documented because it sure gives us a chuckle. Poor Punkin Bears will now have an embarrassing video we'll have of him to show off.

Bless You

Jett's blessing day was on the first Sunday of the month this year, January 5th. He looked so dang adorable (and snuggley) in his little sweater outfit I found for him! I'm not a fan of the traditional mini suit and tie blessing outfits for baby boys that are usually all made of satin, so I had been on the search for awhile to find something else suitable. We're just not those kind of prim and proper fams so I wanted something more "us"... like letting Gage wear sweet Converse shoes with his tux for our wedding. That's our style. So, thank you Target for being that place I found such a cute outfit and Kohl's for the perfect matching booties. My beloved stores.
It was a busy day for blessings, so two itsy-bitsy baby girls went first before chunker Jett. I told Jake that when it was finally our turn, he should get the mic and say in a deep, sultry voice, "Ladies...." but (sigh) he did not. Jake did a great job and of course I got teary-eyed. Jett stayed perfectly calm, which I was a wee worried about since he was not in his napping milk-coma yet and had just started up his squeals, cooing, and hiccups after the opening prayer. Good baby! And kudos to the men in the prayer circle for all being to hold up Jett's chunky buns for a whole 2-3 minutes. After church, it was off to Olive Garden with the fam to break the Sabbath, and ooooh was that seafood alfredo delicious! Overall, it turned out to be a low-key, special day, and I'm grateful for my little family.
